Cudi’s sixth studio album had originally been due in September, but the Ohio artist delayed the release, citing “sample clearance issues.” A few days later, Cudi checked himself into rehab after suffering from “depression and suicidal urges.”
Kid Cudi thanked West and several other artists for their support last month (November) after leaving rehab. He also joined West on stage in November for a performance of ‘Waves’.
Meanwhile, Wu-Tang Clan rapper RZA has defended West’s recent meeting with President-elect Donald Trump.
“Trump is the President, so we’re going to have to talk to him, deal with him,” RZA said. “If Kanye went in to speak for our community, then Bong Bong.”
His comments come after John Legend spoke of his disappointment at seeing West meet with the President-elect at Trump Tower.
“I don’t think it’s impossible to talk to him about issues, but I won’t be used as a publicity stunt. And I think Kanye was a publicity stunt. I’m pretty disappointed with Kanye that he says he would have voted for Trump,” he said.
“I think Trump has been corrosive, his message has been corrosive to the country and I think the things he’s promised to do have been very concerning for a lot of people. And for Kanye to support that message is very disappointing…. Whatever was in his mind, I disagree with him.”
West took to Twitter to reveal that he met with the President-elect to “discuss multicultural issues” which included “bullying, supporting teachers, modernising curriculums, and violence in Chicago”.
This week, West has also dropped a new track called ‘Castro’ with rapper Yo Gotti.
